SRAM & MRAM Group and SITI 1 International have signed a joint venture agreement to venture into the highly profitable yet uncharted Halal Tourism industry. This collaboration could spark a new wave of investments and technological innovations in Halal Tourism, an area where SRAM & MRAM is well-positioned due to its expertise in cutting-edge technologies such as GPS, PPS, VPS, AI, and Big Data. These technologies will play a pivotal role in advancing Halal Tourism, particularly through big data analytics and artificial intelligence across various business verticals in the sector.
At the press conference, Dr. Sailesh Lachu Hiranandani, Chairman of SRAM & MRAM, emphasized that Halal Tourism is not just limited to tourism related to Islamic practices but represents a global phenomenon focused on clean, meticulously planned tourism and businesses aligned with the Halal Network. He expressed excitement about the global economy’s growing interest in the USD 240 billion industry, and stated that SRAM & MRAM, along with SITI 1, aims to achieve the target of USD 500 billion by the end of 2025. He believes that with the range of products offered by SITI 1, the goal could be reached even sooner, once initial hurdles and misconceptions are overcome.
Dr. Mohammed Malekhzadeh, Director of SITI 1 International, expressed gratitude to Dr. Hiranandani and SRAM & MRAM for the opportunity to be part of a billion-dollar group. He discussed his two decades of pioneering research in Halal Tourism and its impact on the business landscape. He emphasized that SITI 1 offers a new perspective by covering 22 categories, with food being just one of them.
Mr. Reza Sadeghi, Director of SITI 1, elaborated on the vast scope of Halal Tourism, which includes various sectors such as hotels, airlines, transport (land, sea, and road), healthcare, food, cosmetics, clothing, and more. Chief Guest Dato Sri Abdul Khani discussed the importance of promoting Muslim-friendly destinations and training stakeholders, stressing the need for collaboration with SRAM & SITI 1 to promote Halal Tourism globally.
Mr. Norsaidatul Mazelan, President of the Sustainable Business Network Association of Malaysia, and Mr. Nadzirah Salehuddin, Head of the Halal Division, praised SITI 1’s certification process, which they regard as the standard for Halal certification. Mr. Patrick Theseira, Director of Sales at Platinum Charters, also expressed appreciation for the opportunity to introduce Halal Tourism to the ASEAN countries. He, along with his partners Dr. Ravee and Mr. Ashley Musgrave, is launching Heyy CAB in Malaysia, the world’s first Halal-certified B2B and B2C e-hailing app.
Wendy Wong and Nancie Foo, Directors of Seni 2020 & SRAM Technologies, stated that the entire world market can benefit from Halal Tourism, and they plan to introduce Halal Tourism and certification processes to the media and entertainment industry in Malaysia and other ASEAN countries.
Dr. Sailesh Hiranandani praised the implementation team led by Mr. Thomas Mathew, Director of Finance, and Mr. Vidya Babu, Senior Business Consultant, for their crucial role in driving the global Halal Tourism project. Mr. Mahendra Joshi and Mr. Natesh Sharma, associates and shareholders in SRAM Group, will focus on promoting Halal Tourism in the Indian Subcontinent and MENA regions, seeing immense business potential in Asia and Africa. The Muslim Rashtriya Manch, supported by the RSS, has endorsed the project and aims to promote the benefits of Halal Tourism across India.
Ms. Mary Mam, Director of Cambodian Operations for SRAM & MRAM, is focusing on the ASEAN market, with plans to make Cambodia 100% Halal-certified by 2025. Mr. Sirajudin Shahul Hameed, Liaison Director, will lead operations in MENA and Africa and is already in discussions with heads of state to advance Halal Certification procedures. Additionally, talks are ongoing with Western universities to offer advanced Halal Certification courses.
Dr. Jagvinder Singh Virk, an Australian technocrat and associate of Dr. Hiranandani, has been advocating Halal Tourism and the products and services offered by SITI 1. He is working with various heads of state to ensure that the standards of Halal services meet the highest expectations globally. Dr. Virk believes that the partnership between SRAM & SITI 1 makes excellent business sense, as the global market is ready for the Halal label, and SRAM’s global presence will help market the products, while SITI 1’s expertise ensures strict compliance with Halal standards. With partnerships with leading universities, SITI 1 is also offering doctoral programs for those interested in careers in Halal Tourism.
