India’s Maiden Launch of Eco-Friendly Automotive Manufacturing Facility with SRAM & MRAM Group & CSEPEL Holding NYRT, Hungary

SRAM & MRAM Group has signed an agreement with the Himachal Pradesh Government to establish a manufacturing unit for Electric Vehicle (EV) buses in collaboration with CSEPEL Holdings NYRT, Hungary. This initiative marks the launch of India's first-ever e-vehicle manufacturing division, showcasing the nation's rapid and steady technological advancements aligned with eco-friendly principles.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Mr. Jai Ram Thakur, and Mr. Shailesh Vats, Director of SRAM & MRAM Group. This historic event took place in the presence of the Honorable Prime Minister during the Investors Meet held in Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh. SRAM & MRAM Group, a UK-based multinational corporation, has officially exchanged the MOU for the assembly and manufacturing of e-buses in the state of Himachal Pradesh.
CSEPEL Holding Nyrt, Hungary, is providing the necessary investments, including human, financial, and technical resources, to set up the assembly unit. Dr. Sailesh Lachu Hiranandani, Chairman of SRAM & MRAM Group, along with Mr. Kalaichelvan, Vice-Chairman of the consortium and an expert in automotive ancillaries, have come together in this collaboration. Mr. Harpreet Bhakshi, Managing Director of ELPRO, is also part of the initiative. The trio has committed to providing comprehensive resources for R&D, financial support, human resources, and technical expertise over the next 10 years to ensure the success of this groundbreaking project.
After the MOU signing, Mr. Shailesh Vats, Director of SRAM & MRAM Group, met with the press to share his thoughts on the corporate sector's entry into the EV transport market. He emphasized the importance of developing affordable technologies that benefit all countries and their economies, creating employment opportunities for local populations and contributing to better economic progress.
