ATD Group, UK's SRAM & MRAM plan Rs 100 cr investment on foraying into EV segment in India

SRAM & MRAM Group, in collaboration with its group company ATD Group, has announced the launch of its maiden electric vehicle (EV) project in India, set for March 2022. The Canopus electric scooters are already making waves in the global EV market, backed by an investment of Rs. 100 crore and prototypes ready for promotion. The Indian manufacturing headquarters in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, will serve as the supplier to a nationwide dealer network, while ATD Finance, an ATD Group company, will provide financing options for the purchase of Canopus electric scooters across India.
The Canopus electric scooter lineup includes four variants—Aurora, Scarlett, Colette, and Valeria—designed to offer exceptional performance with an operational cost of just INR 20 paise per kilometer. Features include IoT-based telematics, a TFT dashboard, and a mobile app that provides battery status, riding modes, geofencing, GPS tracking, SOS capabilities, and roadside assistance. The scooter’s fast-charging battery can reach 80% charge in just 30 minutes, with the added benefit of Korean wind power technology to improve battery energy efficiency.
