On Monday, Governor Ricardo Quintela received investors from the Indian company SRAM & MRAM with the aim of launching the plan to expand the poultry fattening activity of the province and develop the export market.
This project translates into regional growth and the creation of hundreds of direct and indirect jobs.
In this sense, the Minister of Labor, Employment and Industry of La Rioja, Federico Bazán, pointed out that "with the incursion of this investor group we have the possibility in 2025 of a very important expansion, we talk about producing more than seven times the amount of chicken that today the company Granjas Riojanas, which was a state company and was acquired by private capital. This
means more than 350 new direct jobs plus all the indirects that this entails."
In addition, he stressed that the initiative has been worked on from the different areas of the province so that the investment and the generation of more work can materialize and marks a milestone in the province with the possibility of starting to trade in the Pacific for the exit to Chile.
For his part, the collaborator, Ángel Maza, mentioned that "today we are supplying chickens from La Rioja to ten Argentine provinces and now they are trying to attract an investment of one hundred million dollars from this company based in India to export food."
Then, he explained that "the advantage of La Rioja is that being in the west it has very adequate sanitary conditions and they are interested in the exit to the Pacific and for the people of La Rioja it gives economic meaning to that dream we have, which is the exit to the Pacific."
